Even newest paid upgrade MacSpeech Dictate 1.5.2 Crashes on Snow Leopard

I was disappointed that MacSpeech Dictate 1.3 would not work with Snow Leopard. I was extra annoyed and disillusioned to see that MacSpeech Dictate 1.5.2 PAID upgrade also fails at launching the app.

No ETA from MacSpeech on this.

Working with a developer outside of MacSpeech official channels, he discovered the problem is if you have many contacts in Address Book, it will cause Dictate to crash. He had me change a small entry in the Terminal:

defaults write com.macspeech.Dictate MSPrefGenerateEmailCommands NO

and Dictate is working fine now. A separate bug, that causes Safari to crash any time a text entry is made if Dictate is just running and not even in use, still remains open. Hope this helps others.

Took a while.. Turns out I'd made a typo in my original registration and got my email address wrong. Ooops.. Sounds like they are quite busy over at Macspeech, but in my experience, they will get back to you in time..

Slightly peeved that some software I bought less than a year ago now requires 1/3 as much extra to get it to work with the upgraded software, but if it turns out to be 1/3 extra as good, then fair enough.
