HP LaserJet P1505n

I have all the posts and have tried virtually everything from re-installing printer and downloading older drivers. Does anyone have any other tricks? No news on HP's site. This is something that happens on MS updates not Mac's. Very frustrated!

I finally got a solution (but I've no idea what it is or why it works). By noting the USB error and googling I found this discussion topic which contained a fix for a problem showing a similar error message...

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1455306&tstart=0

The actual file to make the repair (which seems to work OK after two days of testing and several reboots) is

http://ftp.easysw.com/pub/cups/contrib/FixAirportPrinter.dmg

I'm so happy to be able to print again.

Noverr,

You might try "hp Laserjet 1015 - cups + Gutenprint v. 5.2.4" as a driver for the p1505n printer.

I could not print on my hp p1505n after installing 10.6 Snow Leopard. The printer is connected to my MacBook Pro via USB. Using the above-mentioned driver, everything works fine for me.

Hope it helps

This comment is not for the P1505n (the network version) but rather for the plain P1505 printer. The new updates (HP Drivers version 2.2) DO work for a LaserJet P1505 connected directly via USB but will not work for this printer when using Airport Express (which DID work prior to upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard).

The driver in question appears as driver version 1.1.0.182

I've no idea when or if either Apple or HP will fix matters but there's plenty of comment here and in other places to indicate that many other HP printers show a similar reluctance to work via Airport Express.

I've been having the same (or at least similar) issue as Nerdykit. I'm actually able to print one document at a time on our P1505n through the Airport Express 802.11g, but have to restart (i.e, unplug... replug) the Airport Express each time I want to print another document. I had no problems with this under Tiger or Leopard. And under Snow Leopard, I had the same problem with the workaround driver (hp Laserjet 1015 - cups + Gutenprint v. 5.2.4).

This problem is appearing on an Airport Express with 802.11n capability.

FWIW, computers trying to print to the HP P1505 through it are coming in via the Ethernet side, not wireless although that shouldn't really matter. The Airport is running in bridge mode to provide a wireless network in the house on the same subnet as my wired network. This all worked nicely under the previous version of OS X.

Oh and I repaired permissions after the Snow Leopard upgrade. It DID find problems with the HP folder but reported them as repaired. After first installation of the printer, I got a brief, flash of lights on the printer as is normal before printing then a 'buffer error' message. After that print jobs sent show 'connecting to XXX airport.local' briefly, then the window message reverts to 'Printing document name' with 'Ready to Print' underneath. But nothing happens.

The buffer error message seems to be a one time only event upon first printing trial after installation of the printer (or re-installation).

I've also repaired the printing system and reinstalled the printer. Same effect.
