Snow Leopard mixes up contact information in mail and address book

Since installing Snow Leopard, I have had several incidents where apple mail app substitutes the name of a contact (on an email I have received) with someone else's contact information. For example, "John Smith" is cc'd in the email that is sent to me, but "Bob Jones"'s name and contact info from my address book appears in mail. The same email on my iphone does not exhibit this problem and shows the proper information. This is particularly troublesome because if I reply all without noticing the problem, the email thread goes to an unintended recipient.
Issue #2: A similar but different issue has also occurred. Address book app has mixed up the contact detail for multiple contacts. So, mutliple contacts show the wrong contact detail. Shortly thereafter, address book crashed and when it re-opened the problem was no longer occuring.
Anyone else experiencing issue #1 or #2? Any help?

I'm having similar issues -- I see many 😟

In Mail, if I bring up the "Address Panel"
- I can't sort
- Clicking on groups doesn't do anything
- If I search for my name, I see all my email addresses -- but they are linked/shown with a totally different person's name.

In mail if I type in the Address panel and select a name that properly appears, such as my daughter's name/email (she has 2 possible addresses) and select one. The name displayed it for her cousin -- who I don't have an email address for -- appears to be using my daughter's email address I selected.

For some of these, if I switched to the address book, selected the problem name, and then switched back to Mail it seemed to work OK when I type in the address bar. The "Address Panel" is just screwed up.

I haven't noticed a problem with contacts in Snow Leopard (yet!), but whenever I use the Address panel to add multiple addresses to an email, Mail crashes after about the fifth name. I make sure to Save the email after each name so I don't lose anything before the crash. The crash reporter screen comes up and I continue with the email. It sounds like Snow Leopard has introduced some bugs to the Address panel (and maybe Address Book in general), because I never had trouble with the Address panel before SL. I googled the subject and haven't found anyone else with the problem. I'll try using Address Book instead of the panel to see if that works better. I prefer to not have to open it though--the panel is so convenient.

I have a number of files with "unknown" as well.
AddressBook-v22.abcddb.1.unknown
AddressBook-v22.abcddb.2.unknown
AddressBook-v22.abcddb.3.unknown
AddressBook-v22.abcddb.4.unknown

I ran Verify Disk as suggested and no errors were reported. The volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok.

What now?

As an FYI I am also synching to iphone and outlook via mobileme.
