How do I create a Dock Icon linking to a Service

I created a new service and would like to access it via an icon the Dock. Is this possible?

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.6)

If you created a service using Automator, it is a contextual menu item. It is active in the contextual menus and the Services menu for the programmed app and type of data.
