I am in the uk on o2 and I have had the iphone 2 days and for the past 3 hours it has had no service. I tried hard reset, switching to airplane more for 10 seconds and taking out the sim and putting it back.
Having similar issues here in the States on AT&T. Though not all the time for voice (but most of the time). Texting does not work. Can not make 75% of calls, usually times out... in multiple locations. AT&T was very nice and tried to help having me shut off 3g, wireless, BT etc... However nothing seems to be resolving the issues. The only info I got that was new to me was in order to have the phone retrieve network updates, it should be powered down for at least 1.5-2mins.
I'm curious if the number of email accounts I have pushing to the phone could be a contributing problem? I have 1 Exchange Account for work, Yahoo, Gmail, MobileMe, and my ISP personal POP account (5 total). Anyone have thought's in this. Or should I go in and try to get a new SIM card or Replacement phone?
Is it just me or did most of these issues crop up when the 3gS rolled out?
I also have a brand new iphone 3GS and it doesn't send/receive text messages at all. Everything else works: voice calls, email, web, but not text messaging.
