iPod Touch 16GB stuck at Boot Logo

My iPod Touch 1st Generation 16GB is stuck at the Apple logo. One day I turned it on... and it stayed at the Apple logo. I managed to get it into Restore Mode (iTunes sign and iPod cable), but none of my computers recognised it. It didn't show up at all on Mac OS or Windows. Any ideas?

Edit: After about 10 minutes of being plugged into the computer, the small white clickwheel appeared over the top of the Apple logo, but it was laggy (didn't spin smoothly at all). My computer still didn't detect anything.

Try to connect it to the adapter to charge it and let it charge for at least 30min or more. Then try again to connect to your mac. See also: Unable to restore: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

It has been on charge for 2 hours now. Neither my Mac or my Windows computers are recognizing that I've plugged it in 😟

Did you try to reset? (sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes up) Did you try another cable?

I tried both the cable that came with the iPod, and the cable that came with the wall charger.

I also managed to get the iPod into DFU mode (blank screen) and Restore mode (iTunes + USB Cable), but the computer didn't recognise it.

I guess so. I'm still hopeful that there is a solution out there :P

I got this iPod early 2008, so the warranty that came with the iPod must be over by now. Thanks for your help anyway 😉
