iTunes & Calendars/Contacts - gone from ipod After Snow Leopard install

After upgrading to Mac OS Snow Leopard (v10.6), I am no longer able to sync my calendars and contacts to my ipod 5G. I do not have an iphone and this is the only way I can see my calendars and contacts. Now I don't have any! What happened? Is this feature going to be re-added in an update to iTunes? Please help!

Hi, some more information...

I worked with Apple on the phone for three hours, to no avail.

the troubleshooting steps are as follows:
1. deleted from HD/username/Library/Caches the "com.apple.ical folder"
2. deleted from HD/username/Library/Preferences the file "com.apple.iCal.plist"
3. deleted from HD/username/Library/Calendars the "Calendar Cache" file
4. removed and reinstalled itunes
5. "restored" ipod to factory default settings
6. exported, deleted, and re-imported all calendars (individually)
7. plugged in ipod and tried to sync calendars - still not working...

This issue has been escalated up...

After seeing many posts with ical issues with Snow Leopard, I think I am not alone...

None of this has helped

Glad I am not the only one... in a way.

I get the following window message when selection contacts to sycn - "iTunes will no longer sync contacts to ipod "MiPod Classic 80". Would you like iTunes to remove contacts previously copied to you ipod?"
Then is has two button choices (Don't remove contact) and (Remove Contacts).
When trying to select calendars I get a window state something like... You can no calendars to sync. Would you like to open iCal to create some. Then it give me a button to do so.
I do have calendars.

I can sync contacts and calendars on an old iPod Classic 160 GB and on an iPod 5th generation. My newest iPod Classic 120 GB doesn't let me synchronize them: iTunes 9 states that iCal has no calendars and offers to open iCal, but I have calendars in iCal! I restored my iPod, but I didn't solve the issue. The problem started with Snow Leopard and iTunes 9. Hope it can be fixed.

Well, after upgrading to 10.6 my iMac won't sync calendar and contacts with ipod classic and my macbook does not sync calendars and contacts with ipod nano either. Two different computers and 2 different ipods and same behavior. Kinda funny. Further updates to 10.6.1 and iTunes 9 didnt solve the problem. However I can sync calendars and contacts to my cellphone perfectly fine. So I think this is OSX bug. I just wonder may be somebody figured out the solution.

I found this on another thread about someone having trouble syncing to mobileme (thanks to user "bandit" in ical discussion "snow leopard/ical").
I tried this and I can now sync ical to my ipod, but contacts (address book) is still having trouble.

1. Opened "Terminal" program
2. Entered: /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsyn c.pl full
3. plugged in ipod which started itunes
4. clicked on the contacts tab - my calendars showed up.
5. clicked on the "sync ical calendars" button
6. clicked the "apply" button
and YES! I have calendars back on my ipod!

I wish contacts (address book) was fixed too, but at least this was something.
