Lexmark c544dn slow printing - solved

Was struggling with a slow printing problem with my Lexmark C544dn printer after upgrading to 10.6. Even a simple one-line Text Wrangler document would take 2-3 minutes to print. I had tried everything - completely resetting the print queue, reparing permissions, USB vs ethernet, etc.

Lexmark tech support was very helpful - after updating firmware to no effect, he sent me an updated .ppd file that totally solved the problem. If anyone else is struggling with the same thing, contact their tech support and ask for the updated ppd.
