"locationd" wants to connect to mac-services.apple.com...

Since installing SL, My Little Snitch has been alerting on:
"locationd"
wants to connect to mac-services.apple.com on TCP port 443 (https).
IP address 17.250.248.122
Reverse DNS Name mac-services.apple.com
Established by /usr/libexec/locationd
Unix PID 10768
User ID 205 _locationd

Can anyone tell me what this is? I did "man locationd" in terminal and didn't get anything...

I'm guessing its the timeset based on your location which it might do form a reverse IP lookup... but ****... thats a guess. If I don't like the smell of something on Snitch I deny first... Its always puzzled me why Apple don't pull the serial number from all macs when they do a system software check ... that would catch an awful lot of stolen Macs out there... and result in less sales... ah.
