Wireless keyboard caps lock light not working

Hey, said it all in the title but here's the story...

Got home today and realized that the caps lock LED don't light up anymore. Has anyone else had similar problems? If so, how was your situation rectified?

The keyboard still works fine, don't think its a bad enough problem to have it replaced or be without it for ages. Could see if apple will allow a straight swap at the shop...

Same thing just happened to me - my Caps Lock key was still functioning but the light wasn't going on and off. I did what you did: turned off bluetooth, took out the batteries then put them back in, turned Bluetooth back on and re-paired my wireless keyboard. Now it works again. 🙂

Weird glitch though... I had hoped that when Apple came out with their new Mighty Mouse they would come out with a shiny new keyboard as well. Mine is unbalanced and rattles when I type - drives me nuts.

good question, to bigup customer services and applecare - they have been a saint - when i ordered my computer i selected the wired keyboard and mouse as i wanted to have an extra port on the side of the keyboard. They sent a wireless instead for free as they had ran out of wired ones... when the mouse came, the cord wasn't long enough to use whilst plugged into the computer. so apple sent a wireless one and i got to keep the wired mouse so i just use that.

UPDATE on the keyboard... the letter "S" stopped working altogether so apple have now replaced it

Hi Guys

Glad I've just found these posts. Got a new 27" iMac just before Christmas. Greatly relieved that everything worked despite all the reports of cracked screens, etc. BUT - only small problem was the Caps Lock light not always coming on. Rang Apple and got a replacement. Now today I'm having same problems - first the light froze and wouldn't go off. Then it wouldn't come on. I've now tried your advice of switching off the keyboard and taking out the batteries. Works OK now. Hopefuly it'll stay that way. Only thing is - pity Apple couldn't have given me that advice. Reading these posts, there is clearly an ongoing problem with the caps lock light on the wireless keyboard. A problem thats been around for months. Clearly Apple's poilicy, as always, is to admit nothing until it comes up with a fix. Pity that policy appears to extend to not even telling their own employees that there is a problem ...

Nick - have to say I was a little disappointed with Apple telephone support recently. I bought a new Macbook Pro in October and bought a FireWire 400 to 800 adapter on eBay. When I connected it to my MacBook it just died. Seemed like the faulty adapter knocked out the power management unit. After half an hour on the phone with apple support they couldn't offer any quick fix. I duly took it to an apple approved repairer who fixed it in minutes. It was literally a similar keyboard configuration to zapping the PRAM and suddenly everything back to normal (ie battery recognised, fan not constantly running). Seemed like a standard test given the circumstances.
So long story but suffice to say that that experience wasn't too good.
Having said that the guys in store on the genius bar are generally great and know their stuff.
Cheers,
Mike
