Play Medley's while in Shuffle

This is a difficult question to explain but I will attempt it.

I enjoy putting my iPhone on shuffle and letting it go while I'm wasting away at work. Some of the tracks in my library are meant to transition into the next track from the original album. The best example that most people will understand is The Beatles Abbey Road album. The songs that should be one continuous flow are:
She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
Golden Slumbers
Carry That Weight
The End
But when I shuffle I will just get one song. Is there a way to tell iTunes to always play these songs in this order without separating them even while shuffling? If you need a better explanation just ask. If this is not a current feature it would be a great future addition.

If you ripped the songs from a CD, you can do this: Re-rip them, but before you import, select the songs that go together (and I had to do this on the very same album)and then choose Join CD Tracks in the iTunes menu. Can't think which menu it is, but I think it's past the middle and toward the right. Please note that you cannot join tracks after you've ripped them.

If the songs are downloads, this method won't work. I think there may be a script at Doug's Scripts (Google for the site) or a third-party app that will do it. (Don't know the name of the program.)

I wish I could have it both ways; I don't want to have to go back to re-rip and/or join tracks after I've already imported them. This is just too much trouble.

Ultimately, I'd like to be able to create a playlist with certain tracks "joined" (in terms of shuffle playback order), and simultaneously have a different playlist with the same tracks "unjoined".

Although I was expecting iTunes to make this easy, I'm now guessing that iTunes won't do this. Seems like just a little bit of additional metadata in the playlist data would have allowed for this. Oversight?
