Ricoh and Lanier Printers won't print even with New Link

Got this link from the Apple site to update the Ricoh and Lanier printers but it still won't print. Why?

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/ricohprinterdriver sformacosxv106.html

There is something seriously wrong about this Snow Leopard system with the printing. The lesson learned is don't believe Apple's ******** hype and wait a few months before updating system.

What model printer do you have? Do you have the PostScript module installed in the printer? The printers listed on Apple page as being supported by Lanier are only those that have the PostScript module. For Lanier printers that do not have the PostScript module installed, please try the Lanier drivers from OpenPrinting.org at _ http://www.linuxfoundation.org/en/OpenPrinting/MacOSX/pxlmono_. These contain the drivers Ricoh/Lanier publish for their non-PostScript printers.

Our office just purchased a Lanier 2550/LD525 whose driver was broken by Snow Leopard. After more than hour with Ricoh tech support (They were most patient!) I decided to give the problem a rest before hitting on this fix later today...

When adding a new printer, select network, Line Printer Daemon, then (in my case) Ricoh MP C2500 PS. Selecting IPP (as I had done previously) kept everything broken.

While there are some differences in terminology between Lanier and Ricoh, I'm able to print to our unit as before. And yes, the dealer had to add a PostScript Card so my Mac could print to a Lanier network multifunction unit.

Thank you. This worked for Lanier LD520C.

I had to install drivers after Snow Leopard update. I selected the driver like I normally do, by going to IP > Chosing IPP as the Protocol and typing the IP address. This cause the printer to pause everytime I went to print something. I followed your directions and the printer successfully began printing.

Thanks again.
