iChat snow leopard video NOT working

Video chat doesnt seem to ever want to work!!!! It's very frustrating! I can't even change my port to 443, that fixed the problem when I was on Leopard. Whenever I try to change it to 443 it changes bak to 5190 automatically. I log off and change it, and i noticed when I change it to 443 and click outside of that box, it'll automatically change to 5190. Can anyone help me?

Odd.

1) I had not thought of pressing enter.

2) It does/did not work for me. All I now see is it change back to 5190 (rather than changing to Account Info pane and back)

3) Further testing of deleting the port 5190 one character at a time and playing with the SSL option a couple of time got it to stay on a second account.
In fact it was an @Mac.com name which waited for a while then reported the SSL would not work with the Apple Server.

To restate:-
I had SSL Off (It seemed to be the default).
I had to Enable SSL to get the Change to accept when pressing enter. (I could turn Off the SSL again and the change stayed before Logging back in again.

Ok,

Are the ports for iChat set in the router ?
Can you Logn but not Video Chat ?

In System Preferences > Network does it show the DNS server for Your connection or your Neighbours ?

Please Not it may be some time (Again) before I respond further.

well it looks like it's a router problem. because if i connect to my neighbor's wireless network i can video chat with people.

but the weird thing is; when i am connected to my network, i cannot connect with anybody EXCEPT one other person. it's the weirdest thing. She is able to video chat with other people fine...

i have changed the port to 443, with no success =\

Hi Alex,

Can you list the make and model of the modem and the router again and what you have done to set them up to work together for iChat.

As this is iChat 5 also go to the Connection Doctor (Video menu) and tell me what it says in Network Status.

It is late here again and there will be a break before I post again.
