Will underclocking/undervolting void my warranty?

Hello,

I apologize if this has already been answered -- I tried doing a search but I'm new to the Apple forum and still learning how it all works.

I own a couple Mac desktops but have just recently purchased my first Mac notebook (2.4ghz Macbook Pro Unibody). I have no plans on using my new MBP for anything CPU demanding -- just basic stuff such as web browsing and email, so this new MBP really is far more powerful than what I currently need...

I am just wondering if I would void my Apple warranty by using a program such as Coolbook to underclock and undervolt the CPU so I could get a little extra battery life out of it. Also, if I were to purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan, would this be voided as well?

Thanks for your help 🙂

CoolBook has worked well for my MBA 1.86 GHz (SL9400). Stock Geekbench 32 scores were pretty consistently ~2500, and after undervolting they improved to ~2700 consistently with complete stability and better battery life (like 10-15% estimated). Now that was worth the $10 fee for the licensed version of Coolbook. It takes a little experimentation but the learning curve is not too steep. However, mileage will vary depending on your actual processor.
