Infrared Remote?

Hello. I neglected to buy the 20 dollar remote when I ordered my late '08 Macbook Pro, but now I've decided that I'd like one. Will just buying this: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA128G/B?mco=ODE1NDc0Mg work? I couldn't find anywhere on the tech specs for the MBP where it said if it had an IR receiver thingamajig. I'm assuming it does, but I don't want to spend 20 bucks on it if it's not going to work. Thanks!!!
