My computor thinks my Iphone is a camera please help!

For some strange reason my computer things my Iphone is a camera and consequently wont load on Itunes .
Windows does not appear to let me switch off the automatic system that does this .
Has anyone any ideas what to do ?
I have tried all the remedies listed on the apple site to ready the phone not appearing in Itunes.
Thanks for your help

I am having the same problem. I have not been able to update due to the fact that my computer will not recognize my iphone as an iphone device, only as a camera.

Very frustrated and don't know how to fix it...

any help would be welcomed

It's normal for the camera to be recognized. It's not normal for it to not appear in iTunes. Take a look here:

I have tried the solutions outlined in the web page mentioned to no avail.
Frankly it is pushing the boundries of my technical abilities on computors to the limit
What would be helpful is an explanation of what the error codes mean as I keep getting one OxE800006B it obviously has meaning and it is not just a random squiggle

I would suggest completely uninstalling itunes along with the drivers for the iphone, and then reinstalling them. You may also want to uninstall any drivers installed for cameras. If you don't know how to do that just post please.

Yawn yawn . As I said earlier I have Tried to reinstall all the apple stuff and IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE.
However I have now sorted the problem myself 🙂
In order to run Itunes you are advised to havbe a minimum XPservice pack2 as I had HOWEVER the problem dissapeared when I down loaded service pack 3
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I am having the same problem - iTunes recognized my iPhone until I upgraded to 3.0. I've tried uninstalling everything, rebooting, defragging, reinstalling rebooting again and again, updating drivers automatically & manually to usbaapl.sys, restarting apple mobile devices, setting iPhone to take no action, etc. etc. to no avail. I read in another forum that I may have to get the phone reset to factory settings...is that all there is left for me to do?

Before you take such drastic action Do
you know anyone else with an iPhone?
See if there iPhone is recognised on your machine?
If not then it's a computor issue not an iphone one.
It could be a windows/iPhone compaatability issue try downloading windows C
XP service pack 3 it worked for me.
