Unexpected Logouts

After upgrading to Snow Leopard my MacBook Pro has started to unexpectedly logout without warning/saving. Any ideas?

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6), 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo with 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM 500GB HDD

There is a setting in System Preferences Security pane General tab that says

+Log out after X minutes of inactivity+ (where X is a number you select)

Perhaps that got enabled by mistake.

Thanks for the thought but it happens when you are in the middle of doing something, for example typing. Any other thoughts?

But still did check that setting I mentioned, correct?

As a test, create a new admin user account in System Preferences Accounts pane.

Log out and log in to the new account, where you will be using default user preference settings for Snow Leopard. See if this happens in the new account.

Thanks for the thougths I have continued this on the thread above to try and pool ideas. I would still like to her your ideas there (others probably would to.) Will try the new account suggestion and let you know.

My MBP is doing this as well when I was in the middle of an excel spreadsheet. It did it twice today. Just started doing it today. Nothing saves and all programs exit. Its like you never logged in. Very strange.
