HP Scanjet 5470c

My HP Scanjet 5470c at first did not work with HP PrecisionScan pro but somehow, miraculously, it started working after trying to start the scanner several times over.

However, the scanner is not visible in Preview nor in Image Capture.

Does anyone have suggestions how to use the scanner with Preview and/or Image Capture?

iMac - 2.8 GHz, 24", Mac OS X (10.6)

At this point in time there are no scanner drivers for the Scanjets to work with the built in software. I have taken note of your request and we'll do what we can.

Just trying to listen.

I am having the same problem with new OS 10.6. My HP Scanjet 4570c will not work!!!! Checked HPs web site, there are NO new drivers for 4570c with OS 10.6. Either HP or Apple need to fix this problem.

If HP wont fix this problem, can someone suggest another scanner brand that works with OS 10.6?

I'm sorry to say, but your Scanner will not be supported under Snow Leopard. I don't have any recommendations for other scanners since I don't know what you're looking for.
