Airport Extreme card (0x14E4, 0x8E) installed and recognize, but not intern

Hello,

Forgive my lack of knowledge with networking, but I installed an Airport Extreme card (0x14E4, 0x8E) in a Mac Pro. It is recognized, but I am not able to connect to the internet. Any ideas on this?

Thanks for any help! This is quite frustrating!

Please excuse this is a too-basic question, but do you have a wireless access point (aka Wi-Fi base station) that your Mac Pro can connect to?

Open the Network panel of System Preferences. If you don't see an "AirPort" entry in the column on the left, click on the "+" sign at the bottom and add one. At this time you might want to check the box for "Show AirPort status in menu bar".

Thanks Duane!
I installed what was reccomended at the Apple Store. Looking at the system profile, it says AirPort Extreme ()x14E4, Ox8E). It also says I am connected to a network (the one I want to connect to) Did those rascals tell me the wrong card to buy? What is the difference between a Bluetooth/Airport and Airport Extreme card? I will also say though, that Bluetooth is working fine.

I feel very good about the installation of the card.

Thanks so much for the advice!
