I really like the Snow Leopard install I did this past Sat and all went well, speed increase, added HD space, faster Photoshop CS4. But I can't use GarageBand right now because my M-Audio UNO Sport MIDI USB cable won't work wth Snow Leopard. There is no driver update yet at the M-Audio for the UNO. I'm sure they are working on it, but I need to get my keyboard hooked up to GB.
I am reading many other posts here about others having no problems with the upgrade other than MIDI issues with their direct USB keyboards or their MIDI/Audio interfaces.
Hope this gets fixed soon.
Thanks Steve

HI. I think my question would be is there a MIDI cable that is "immune" to Snow L that anyone has found to work now, rather than wait for M-Audio to update their drivers. The M-Audio site reported on their site they are working with Apple to update the drivers, but no one has a clue on when and how soon,
It seems I have a similar problem. I use my Kawai Mp5 (stage piano) as a midi interface. It is connected to my Mac (see details below) using a USB cable.
In Leopard it worked fine. In Snow Leopard however I need to power on the Kawai before I start my computer! If I power the Kawai later it is not detected in the Midi Setup of MacOSX. However, in system info I can see that the USB device is detected!
So the Mac recognizes the device, but it's not showing up as a midi interface, unless it was powered before I started my computer.
Anyone else having this problem? It's really annoying to have to restart your computer everytime I which to use my midi interface..
My computer is the hub of my project music studio. My MOTU Fastlane Midi interface (the interface itself) fried after installing, followed by a message that it was drawing too much power (it's never done that). I'm also using a Tascam FW1884, and the midi isn't working properly, not recognizing certain midi instruments plugged into the system, particularly my Behringer FCB1010. Frustrating.
I have a roland digital piano RD-300GX which is not showing up in the midi utility either. and as mentioned by someone else, in the system profiler its there. But the midi utility can't find it. It works fine on my mac mini 10.4.11 but not at all on my 10.6.1
I also have found that my MIDI got broken when I moved from PowerBook (Leopard) to MacBook (Snow Leopard). Who's going to fix it? I guess if Apple broke it they should fix it - PLEASE?!!!
I thought that this type of interface was supposed to be class compliant.
Did you try trashing your audio .plist files? You'll find com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist and
com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist in library/preferences.
Same problem here, the computer has detected the audio in/out from my e-mu 0404 audio/midi interface, but the midi in/out has never appeared in the midi setting.
