I just bought an HP OfficeJet 6500 and hooked it upto my wireless router with the ethernet port. When I added the printer to Snow Leopard, it automatically downloaded the proper drivers. Printing works great, but I can't get it to recognize the scanner.

I have followed all the instructions on this HP support page (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01846935&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en &product=1153481) including repeatedly removing and reinstalling the Printer from the Print & Fax preferences screen.

The HP support document says a "scan" tab should appear, but one never does. Image Capture and Preview never notice any scanners, either.

Any ideas?
