How do I change date received format?

How do I change date received format?

I could have swore there was a preference option in Mail.app to do what I want, but I can't find it. Currently, the date received column shows "yesterday," "today," etc. How do I get it to display just the date? I want the date received column to be in the format:

mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss

Is it possible to configure Mail.app to get that kind of display?

24" iMac, 15-inch MacBook Pro 2.4 GGH, MacPro quad core 1.86 GHz, Mac OS X (10.6)

HI,

Launch the Mac Mail application.

Open your Inbox window. There are column headers. On the right is; Date Received

Control or right click Date Received

Select Date Received.

I just did this on my own Mac Mail to make sure.

(I'm not crazy about the Today, Yesterday feature either).

I'm pretty sure that was never possible. I've never heard of any way to do it.

customize the medium display format in system preferences->language&text->formats and restart mail.

Go to language and text in system preferences then formats tab. You can customize it here
