Meg, you might want to reconsider your comment.

Here's what Wikipedia has to say:

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

Sorry to step in and keep things slightly on-topic, but if they decided to bring out an iTouch with a camera, wouldn't the price increase? And, if the quality is anything like either of my cellphones, wouldn't the quality be pretty poor? Unless they put in a decent camera, increasing the price EVEN more. Just seems like we're all whinging about something that even if it DID happen, we'd still whinge about. Besides, there are much more pressing issues to deal with, such as 3.1.1 =P

First of all, I agree on the OS issues. I just noticed another thread about 3.1.1 and wifi not working. sounds like what's been happening with 3.0

I already have stated that a camera might cause the retail price to rise about current prices and I, for one am fine with that. I don't expect anything for nothing. Having said that, I think it's unconscionable that Apple included an N wifi chip and an FM transmitter/receiver and haven't enabled either. What say you??

To draw from my highly advanced teenaged vocabulary, it's pretty dicky lol. The camera wasn't really an issue for me, as I wouldn't buy a iTouch for a camera anyway. The battery life is short enough as is. Regarding installing hardware they aren't actually using, it COULD be for a later software update, as someone stated earlier, but don't quote me on that. However, the idea of paying for something I can't use yet seems silly.

If your looking for and ipod touch with a camera just get the iphone, in my opinion if they add a camera to the ipod touch they might as well just make add text messaging and phone calling to it.

Wrong answer but thanks for playing. There are millions of us out here who would love an iPod Touch with the now **basic** features of a still/video camera, but who WILL NOT buy an iPhone ever, for a myriad of reasons, not the least of which is a $60 per month data plan or whatever the cost is.

But you do illustrate well the exact approach Steve Jobs is taking with this move. He wants you and me to be disappointed enough to go "Ahhh what the heck, no camera in the iTouch, I'll just go ahead and get the iPhone.

He is protecting his crown jewel, the forever revenue streaming iPhone. That's of course his right, but it's also my right to hold onto my money and not buy either one of those products. After all, my color iPod is still running along nicely. If there are enough people like me who hold onto their money, he will be forced to put a $9.00 camera part in the iPod Touch. I have the patience of Job........I used a Macintosh Performa 6200 CD for 6 years for crying out loud!

Yeah, "protecting his crown jewel", yet he couldn't get a Verizon deal??? The best network in the USA. Dumb move, IMO. No matter how many million units they have sold, they could have sold more had they gone with Verizon. Many cell phone users wouldn't touch AT&T with a 10' pole, and many that did opt to go with the iPhone aren't happy with dropped calls, inferior sound quality, missed calls, et al.

Putting the iPhone on AT&T is like putting lipstick on a pig.

What??? No new Touch with a camera??
