I've been doing some searching and see a lot of advertisement on apps for both the IPhone and IPod Touch for GPS golf utilities (i.e GPS for shot distances). I know the IPhone would work because of 3G network and AT&T coverage. I'm curious how the iPod Touch, with only WiFi capability would work, and if it isn't scams by companies to get you to buy their product only to find you can't use it. If golf courses are WiFi hotspots, then I'd be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise, how would golf GPS apps work on the Ipod Touch?
Unless you could access multiple wi-fi routers on the golf course, the Skyhook system that is being used would only give you an approximate position (the position of a router).
That's what I thought. There are apps that are advertising being made for the iPhone and iPod Touch. I didn't think it was possible...thanks. Apple...work with Verizon so I can get an iPhone.
