How to remove modem icon at top of Finder

How do I remove the telephone modem icon that appears at top of Finder. I looked in System Prefs but cannot see any option. I recently had to use a network connection via a USB stick modem at a hotel. I uninstalled the app but tel/modem icon still there 😟

If you're talking about the menu bar, try holding down the "command" (Apple) key and dragging that icon down out of the menu bar.
