Q: iTunes LP download not completing Err= -19

Just installed iTunes 9 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 and downloaded iTunes LP- Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan De Gaulle Remix) Single by Tyrese for $2, just to see what the whole deal was and it reaches the end of the download and iTunes gives an Error -19, stating,

**"There was a problem downloading “iTunes LP - Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan de Gaulle Remix) / Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan de Gaulle Remix) - Single / Tyrese”. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.**
**Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."**

Every other download works fine, just the iTunes LP will not finish completing the download. I even deleted the downloads folder inside the iTunes music folder to start a fresh download of the iTunes LP and I still get the same errror. I also tried downloading it using another iTunes library located on my internal drive inside my music folder and still the same error.

Please help anybody, thanks.

Sorry Keith, for me it just worked - the download had no troubles and I didn't know about the iTunes LP bit and therefore was quite surprised when I played it to see snowflakes drifting down the window

Apple really only host these Forums - we are mainly users like yourself, with a sprinkling of Hosts (identified by an Apple logo under their name) who help to keep the Forum running.

If you want a direct response from Apple then, as far as I know, you need to use their support system:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/

Same problem with the iTunes Holiday Sampler LP file for me as well. I have previously downloaded another LP file without any problems.

There was a problem downloading “iTunes Holiday Sampler - iTunes LP / iTunes Holiday Sampler / Various Artists”. An unknown error occurred (-23).

It does seem odd that it works for some and not for others.

All of the songs download just fine for me. The iTune LP sampler part appears to download but fails when it gets to the processing part; almost like it can't find a folder to save it in to.

Colin (or anyone else that's had success): Where does iTunes store "iTunes Holiday Sampler"?

    Thanks

    Hi Ade,
    Music track:
    HD > Users > me > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Music > Compilations > iTunes Holiday Sampler > Dream a Dream.m4a
    LP:
HD > Users > me > Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Music > *Various Artists* > iTunes Holiday Sampler > iTunes Holiday Sampler - iTunes LP.itlp

Not sure why they are in two different places.

    Regards,
    Colin R.

Seems that Star Trek Extras is now fixed. At least for me.

I'm getting the (err = -23) too for the Holiday Sampler... Have reported to Apple a few days ago but, aside from a confirmation of receipt, I've had no response.

I had the -23 error with the LP part of the Holiday Sampler. Reported to Apple at the weekend and I've had several replies telling me that it they're aware of it and are working on a fix.

I've now had a couple of responses from Apple too and they have confirmed that the issue has been escalated and is being looked into.

I've been having this error also. Tried everyday to download - today it worked.

I deleted the .tmp file and the plist from the downloads folder and all is fine.

I had the same problem with the iTunes LP Christmas Sampler. I contacted Apple through the report a problem function in iTunes. I received a reply within 12 hours, they removed the affected file from my iTunes downloads queue and gave me an iTunes song credit as compensation.

Absolutely great service by Apple. Kudos to the iTunes team & to Dinakar in particular!

    A very happy customer

    "Dear Matt,

Thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad to hear that you are feeling more happy now.

Nothing makes Apple happier than to hear that we have pleased our customers. I wish you the best and hope that you continue to enjoy the iTunes Store.

    Merry Christmas, Happy holidays!

    Sincerely,

    Dinakar

Yep, that iTunes LP (the holiday one) works fine now. It's nice to finally try out an iTunes LP on my Apple TV.
