Q: iTunes LP download not completing Err= -19

Just installed iTunes 9 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 and downloaded iTunes LP- Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan De Gaulle Remix) Single by Tyrese for $2, just to see what the whole deal was and it reaches the end of the download and iTunes gives an Error -19, stating,

**"There was a problem downloading “iTunes LP - Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan de Gaulle Remix) / Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan de Gaulle Remix) - Single / Tyrese”. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.**
**Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."**

Every other download works fine, just the iTunes LP will not finish completing the download. I even deleted the downloads folder inside the iTunes music folder to start a fresh download of the iTunes LP and I still get the same errror. I also tried downloading it using another iTunes library located on my internal drive inside my music folder and still the same error.

Please help anybody, thanks.

    This is a Windows 7 machine (x64)

    1: J:\Music
    2: Local drive SATA connected
    3: 200+ GB free (it's a 1TB drive)
4: I removed everything from the download folder and tried to download again.

After downloading for the 2nd time, I get a err=-5000 (access privileges), then when I retry, I get our friend the -19 error.

Doesn't anybody try this stuff first? Where's the QA? I too am getting Err=-19 when downloading iTunes LP - Mayhem. Got the track ok but not the digital media. Nothing unusual about my setup which is a MacBook and a time capsule. Not many problems with itunes before now.

I had the same problem with Mayhem. jerkbones' tip worked for me:
It obviously has s/th to do with external drives.
This is what i did to make it work:
    - unplug the external drive
    - restart iTunes
    - redownload the files
    - quit iTunes
    - plug in the external drive and copy the .itlp file to the desired location
    - start iTunes
    - enjoy the stuff

anyway: this is just a work-around - i think apple should fix this issue - no one wants to do this work-around every time he buys a iTunes LP :-P

My iTunes music folder is in the default location, so it has nothing to do with external drives in my case. I'm on Windows 7, though, so there might be some weird access rights issues ...

I just removed the download which gave me the -19 error and tried again. Led to -5000 error. Removed the files again, downloaded agai (this time over a more stable connection, since the last download was interrupted by a conneciton loss):
error -5000, clicked retry, error -19

Oh yes, and my iTunes Library is on an external drive. I'll try the work around mentioned above.

    I'm on OS X 10.6.1

I also noticed that the download shows as 183 MB before it starts, but when it downloads, it's suddenly 215 MB.

    This is getting really annoying.

Ah yes. The workaround does not work. My external drive that contains the iTunes library is FAT32 formatted. Copying the file there failed because of rights issues.

I found out that apple does not fully support external drives formatted as FAT32. I also had severe problems with an Aperture Library Vault on that drive.

Please get it to work, Apple

edit: ah, it worked now. I had to copy it over to the drive manually, then I could drag it to my iTunes window without errors.

Apparently, those of us having their libraries on external drives have a workaround. However, the problem of LP content not loading also occurs with local libraries (as mine). Has anyone found a workaround if additional LP content isn't loading and the iTunes library is on the local drive?

I tried downloading the missing content (which is clearly there - as 1 available download) from two computers - no success. I always get the same "iTunes Store temporarily unavailable" error message.

This is really annoying. What an embarrassing launch for this otherwise great new feature! Talk about QA...

I'm not getting the -19 error, just the 'iTunes Store temporarily unavailable' when trying to download the MUSE LP track.
I also can't download and iPhone apps since this LP track has been in my download que!

    I second that.
I even just tried it on a different MacBook with a 3G card (different provider) on a guest user account, logging in, same error. The Muse LP seems to be broken to an extent that reenabling the download from the iTunes server side breaks everything.

I was also getting an Apple ID and Password warning everytime I launched iTunes 9. So it made me think to quit iTunes and trash the com.apple.itunes.plist file in my /user/Library/Preferences folder. After doing that I relaunched iTunes, and then when I had to relogin with my Apple account. Once the check for downloads process started it completed with no problem.

Even though Apple initiated the muse LP download for re-
enabled for me, I've also been receiving the message that the 'iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable.
    Please try again later.'
I've restarted my Mac and tried downloading something (a podcast) with
success, even cancelling its download. When I check for available downloads in iTunes, the podcast resumes but then I receive the exact same message. It's been 24 hours since I've tried and to no avail it still doesn't work. It just throws me back to this 'unable to check'
message with no additional information as to what's gone wrong, so I dont even get an 'err 19'.

    getting slightly angry.
