Q: iTunes LP download not completing Err= -19

Just installed iTunes 9 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 and downloaded iTunes LP- Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan De Gaulle Remix) Single by Tyrese for $2, just to see what the whole deal was and it reaches the end of the download and iTunes gives an Error -19, stating,

**"There was a problem downloading “iTunes LP - Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan de Gaulle Remix) / Mayhem Take Me Away (Logan de Gaulle Remix) - Single / Tyrese”. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.**
**Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."**

Every other download works fine, just the iTunes LP will not finish completing the download. I even deleted the downloads folder inside the iTunes music folder to start a fresh download of the iTunes LP and I still get the same errror. I also tried downloading it using another iTunes library located on my internal drive inside my music folder and still the same error.

Please help anybody, thanks.

Count me in. I can't download the Muse LP portion. Music is fine. LP is non-existant. Keep Getting err-19 and err-5000.

I tried to repair my disk permissions, delete the file from the downloads folder, and even move my library to see if it was my external drive. It just seems that iTunes LP is not ready for Primetime.

I have the same problem with The Resistance Album LP:

"There was a problem downloading “iTunes LP - The Resistance / The Resistance / Muse”. An error occurred while reading from the device.
Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."

    I am Running Windows 7.

Yea, this is getting ridiculous. Apple needs to do something quick or LP's will dead before anyone could even get one.

It appears Apple has fixed the issue, I tried over and over this morning to get the Jay-Z LP to download, while it's currently 2:50pm on the east coast and I deleted the download from my iTunes folder and redownloaded it and magically it worked. I then downloaded the Muse LP just to see if that would work and it did. So Apple seems to have fixed whatever issue was going on. I am running Windows 7 RTM.

Sorry, no - I don't think it is fixed. What exactly did you delete and redownload?

Problem still exists here. No change.

No dice for me. I just tried again with the DMB LP.. deleted it, updated my library structure, and redownloaded. This time I got -5000 first, then -19 again. Hmm..

Tobias or chaosboi, have you had any luck with the "unavailable" iTunes Store error? I'm still getting it. Are we still assuming that having the LP items in our queue indeed causes the store to break? The last email I got from the support gal I had been dealing with only passed the buck. She said to take my computer to an Apple Store Genius.

As I'm sure that's not going to help one lick, I was curious to know if anyone else here has been able to reconcile the "unavailable" error after having been helped by the support staff (removing the purchase and adding it again).

I got apple to remove the LP from my account so I could see if that allowed my to download my stuck iPhone apps, once they removed the LP download everything worked again.
Then I asked for them to re load the LP download and this is the email I have received:

    +Hi Matthew,+

+I apologize for the issue that is continuing to go on with the LP. I'm glad you were able to download the apps though. After further investigation It has been determined you are not alone with this issue. Many other customers are experiencing the same problem.+

+Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.+

+Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.+

    +Respectfully, +

Success! I followed VSpecll method of updating the directory structure. CLosing Itunes and checking its directory structure, I found in the downloads folder 6 versions of the Mayhem LP. It looks like Itunes created a new file everytime I attempted to retrieve it.

I deleted all the entries in the Downloads folder and then deleted the Downloads folder (although I'm not sure that was necessary). Starting Itunes, a totally new download started and completed successfully.

I am watching the evolution of the ebook and was surprised to see Fortune magazine cover the Mayhem release as an interactive ebook. Apple apparently developed tools especially for the project. Is this an indicator that Apple is about to jump into the ebook market? Is the tablet going to be their platform?

Thanks to VSpecll for the insight. I had not really looked at the directory structure of my library before.

    @chaosboi

Ah. Well, at least that sounds promising. I guess we just wait it out then. I'm hesitant to have them do any more removals or additions to my queue. Perhaps, if required, I'll ask them to do it after this has all been sorted.

    Thanks for the update.

Quite cross about this error. Wont be downloading any LPs again any time soon. Albums are cheaper elsewhere and less messing around. Well done Apple on destroying all your own hard work and on not, at very least acknowledging this problem let alone dealing with it.

    Apple did acknowledge the problem.

"Our technical department is currently working toward a resolution so you may successfully download your iTunes LP "The Resistance".

I'd like to let you know that this issue is a top priority, ..."

    (from iTunes support).

So I trust Apple that a solution is on the way.
