I downloaded and installed ITunes 9 today as well as the IPhone 3.1 software. There are 4 new apps I hadn't yet synched onto my phone. I can see them on my list of apps, but whenever I synch as I usually do, they don't show up on the phone. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you.
In the "Applications" tab, Sync all applications is checked. All the apps (including the 4 new ones) are checked and the new preview pages have the 4 new apps listed and I can move them around.
I cannot say that this is true, since I am just downloading iTunes 9, however I have seen with other downloads of iTunes to change versions it was necessary to log into iTunes and then connect the phone, and sometimes it required you to agree to the TOS. It may not be the problem, but it could be something to check. With the update to the phone, it may not be recognized as being authorized for those apps. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your reply. I logged off and closed ITunes and unplugged my phone. I reaccepted the Terms and Conditions and tried to sync again and no luck. Have no idea why this is happening.
Try going to the file menu of iTunes and selecting transfer purchases from iPhone
One thing I have found when updating both phones earlier...is that for one phone I already had ALL apps updated on iTunes AND iPhone prior to the upgrade of iTunes and the iPhone OS 3.1
All went according to design...
On phone 2...The apps where up to date on iPhone only...Not in iTunes...when I upgraded iTunes and then updated all apps, after it was done it forced me to re authorize my itunes account...(it didn't do that for phone one) Then after that was done and I clicked sync...it told me that 11 of the apps on iPhone were not updated because they were not authorized...even though I had just authorized the iTunes account...I chose from the file menu "transfer purchases from iPhone" and then the 11 apps did properly show up in iTunes and all was well...
I tried it and it didn't work. I purchase all of my apps from ITunes on my computer and then put them onto the phone. I had found that when I bought from the phone and then synced, the apps would disappear from the phone, so I only buy apps from the computer.
I still think it's to do with the authoring issue like I had...even though you didn't buy on iPhone it's basically the same as in the post I just did above...it first told me that 11 apps where not authorized to play on this iTunes account......try de-authorizing your itunes account from the machine...then re authorize it and see if that triggers it...
I too am seeing this problem. I think it is tied to the ability to adjust the apps and what page they appear on. The reason being that I keep un-selecting and re-selecting apps trying to flip something that will cause it to work. When I do the apps randomly (at least I cannot see a pattern) move around on different tabs. I just purchased two new apps and those wont even appear on the phone nor will apps that I have in itunes but had removed from my phone.
I also have this problem, except that the applications page is not enabled. The Sync (all) Applications is checked and each application is checked, but I cannot uncheck any application or the All checkbox. The right side displays my iPhone pages, but it's grayed out and not enabled (there's a dark gray overlay and the scroll bars don't work). The only way I can sync a new app is to toggle a checkbox on one of my items on the Movies page. ⚠
Interesting. I tried to use my phone to goto the app store and download the two new apps that way and see if that may trigger something. When I goto the store the button is greyed out. The two apps are imech and alive 4 ever. Both appear as greyed out price. Other apps do not appear this way other than ones I have installed or that I have purchased but do not have installed. Perhaps the greyed out is coming from Itunes store instead of my phone.
some more testing. Some of my apps have actually been removed from the phone in total 12 apps including Shazam, secrets of monkey island hangman, and others. Apps that appear in Itunes and that currently appear on my phone can be affected by the app placement in itunes.
tried another test, remove all apps that are not showing up on phone but are listed as installed in itunes. Interesting I reclaimed some free space the same size as the missing apps!
I then tried to reinstall one missing app. Space was lost but NO icon appeared.
