iTunes 9 - doing ANYTHING: spinning wheel...

I almost can't do anything with itunes 9. Everytime I press a button the spinning wheel appears. Sometimes for seconds but in general for about 30 to 60 seconds. There is no message, I don't know what itunes does but it *****!.

Like the white background, like the fact that there is still no "general view for all folders"-Button, ...

Oh yeah, and control-click on dockicon says: "application not responding". If that helps.

Download iTunes 8.2.1 from apple.com
Delete iTunes library, iTunes library extras.itdb, Itunes library genius.itdb and itunes 9.app
Install iTunes 8.2.1.

Move your music folder into iTunes to add your music again.

dougscripts.com is very helpful if you have playlists like artist-album, there are tons of scripts.

It nevertheless takes some time... 😟

The only files that you normally need to remove are the iTunesX.pkg located in the HD>Library>Receipts folder, the iTunes app, and the iTunes Library file which needs to be replaced with a copy of your library file that is in the previous libraries folder - select the newest on and put it into the iTunes folder after renaming it to match what is currently in the iTunes folder.

Reinstall iTunes 8.x - repair permissions with Disk Utility - relaunch iTunes - all is well - empty the trash.
