I almost can't do anything with itunes 9. Everytime I press a button the spinning wheel appears. Sometimes for seconds but in general for about 30 to 60 seconds. There is no message, I don't know what itunes does but it *****!.
Like the white background, like the fact that there is still no "general view for all folders"-Button, ...
Oh yeah, and control-click on dockicon says: "application not responding". If that helps.
Same problem here. External 1TB drive, large library.
Also iTunes won't now display the store, says I need to upgrade Safari to 4.0.3 - which it is!
Snow Leopard.
I downgraded to 8.2.1.
The ball, missing mini player and the annoying white background forced me to. Maybe there are some updates in the future, will never be an early adopter to new versions of the iLife-suite.
The only files that you normally need to remove are the iTunesX.pkg located in the HD>Library>Receipts folder, the iTunes app, and the iTunes Library file which needs to be replaced with a copy of your library file that is in the previous libraries folder - select the newest on and put it into the iTunes folder after renaming it to match what is currently in the iTunes folder.
Reinstall iTunes 8.x - repair permissions with Disk Utility - relaunch iTunes - all is well - empty the trash.
