Apple TV and Bose Cinemate GS Series 2 digiatl sound incompatability via HD

I just picked up a Bose Cinemate GS Series 2 and hooked it up to my TV via optical cable. My Blu-Ray player, Netflix Roku box, and Apple TV are all hooked up to my TV via HDMI cable only. The Blu-Ray and Roku box both work fine and produce sound that the TV sends via the optical out cable to the Bose system just fine. The Apple TV produces no sound via the HDMI cable to the TV/optical out to the Bose system. I have found that only using analog cables to the Bose system from the Apple TV will give me sound. The Bose System only has one optical in and therefore needs to take the optical audio from the TV which is being fed audio from the 2 other aforementioned sources.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking that perhaps a optical switcher box may be a solution but i am not even sure if such a thing exists.
