Beosound 2 not appearing in iTunes since update to 9

I know this is a vague topic at best but I love my B&O as much as my Apple products...
Has anyone else lost any formally accepted, albeit obsolete, MP3 players that did appear and were supported in iTunes previous to 9? The beosound 2 was formally recognized as a non-ipod device by the last version of iTunes and not as an ipod unlike some other products we have all heard of...
Any insight would be greatly appreciated...

Hi there. I've got exactly the same problem - it used to be recognized and 9 has removed that. Grrr. I was wondering if you've worked it out? I've tried creating a new itunes plugins folder in the main library, but that doesn't seem to have done anything... I'm on apple...

Oh and you can downgrade itunes to an older version, there's instructions on the apple site, but I kind of like the home sharing function of 9...

I haven't connected my Beosound 2 for over 1 year. I decided this week to change the music on it, after so long. I too noticed that iTunes no longer detects it. Not only that, but I have decided to start using it on Windows again. And the latest version of Beoplayer doesn't have some features. One is the ability to record straight from CD to BS2. The other is that the playlists keep sorting alphabetically. Before you could drag the album from N.music straight to BS2, and place it where you wanted and the album became a playlist. Now it keeps going to its alphabetical position. Really annoying. I have emailed B&O regarding this. But I don't expect a reply soon.

PS - you really shouldn't use BS2 with iTunes. It only supports MP3, and iTunes MP3 is really bad quality. It's so bad that using such a good quality sounding player is made redundant. This is why I have reverted to using WMA again. The sound quality is so much better. This is a widely accepted thing. The fact that Apple have gimped the mp3 codec. You'd think you can make up for it by using a higher bit rate, unfortunately it makes no difference.
