Preview - Added Text to PDFs

Perhaps I do not understand your question but under View there is the Annotations Toolbar and choosing Text I can move the Text box around.

I'm having this problem too; the texts in the text box:

1. won't align anywhere except the center.
2. won't adjust to fit the size of the text box.

Me too... It's annoying. Hope Apple do something about this.

Same problem here. I hope they have a proper thing to fix this and make it better, like in macWord (for font, editing, etc.)

When I saw what Apple did with the annotations: allowing a text box in the document, highlighting, and all at the bottom of the document, I thought the money I had spent on PDFpenPro was wasted.
It's this issue that has me going back to PPP. I annotate a lot of PDF files. It drives me crazy to think that someone in the group that made the changes for Preview in Snow Leopard could make all those improvements and not give us alignment options, or at least a default of left alignment. How often do people ever use center alignment? I'd bet <5%.
Does anyone have the link for feedback? Last year I was on a thread where many of us complained about not being able to do a Spotlight search inside the folder that was open without clicking on another button. Lo and behold it was fixed as a Finder preference. If someone posts the link and enough people give feedback, there's a chance it may be fixed.

I'm frustrated by this issue to, it's so silly really, why make a text box, give you the ability to change font, size, colour, make it bold etc but not allow you to align left or right?

Kind of like when Apple made the iPhone without cut-and-paste... Next thing you know they'll be jumping up and down about how awesome they are for doing what they should have done the first time - i.e. what everyone else can already do.

Grumble grumble.

Please make it possible to alight left/right...

Lack of text alignment is really ridiculous. I waited on purchasing PDFPen because I was so excited about text notes in Preview, but not being able to align text makes it completely useless.

With all the nice tools that Preview now has, this simple thing makes it impossible to use on a regular basis.

Agreed ! This is really annoying. A fix for this HAS to be coming soon. Seems like such a simple thing to do

I'll add my voice and bump this thread. I just filled out an entire Letter of Recommendation form in PDF using center-aligned text. Ridiculous.

Unbelievable, and stupid. Someone's idea of self expression? Sheesh.

I cannot think of a time when I've wanted center alignment to fill out a form, and I've been doing it for decades. GraphicConverter, I never should have left.

I was just wondering how you get this update so that you can type right onto the picture. All I can do is make a note that shows on the very side of the image.
