Samsung CLX-3175 is only visible as a scanner

Hi,

I just bought a Samsung CLX-3175 and considering I just upgraded to Snow Leopard I wasnt expecting any difficulties. I did as the instructions manual said: Installed the drivers from the cd that was provided and then followed it to the add printer and fax settings. In there I found Adobe PDF thing, unknown samsung scanner and unknown usb something. After I tried adding them, sometimes it even found the proper drivers by itself, sometimes I had to look for them in the list the unknown usb disappears and I am left with just the scanner (which just sits there and does not work.) So I upgraded the drivers from samsung website which were supposed to be for 10.6 and I still have the same problem.

I just see the scanner but it does not work and I can't print because there is nothing to add in the add printer & fax window.

Anything that anybody could suggest? This really ***** because otherwise the printer works great! Copying and printing from a USB flash is superb so I really want to start printing from my computer!
