Safari won't save toolbar rearrangement after restart

I have an annoying problem with Safari (4.03).
Whenever I try and change the arrangement of the toolbar (add/remove buttons, or just change their locations on the toolbar), it won't save the new arrangement to the next session of Safari after I close it (CMD+Q)

Anyone knows this problem? and if so, how can I fix it?

iMAc, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Safari 4.03

Greetings,

It sounds like your preferences are corrupt, so your changes don't stick. Try this:

Quit Safari if it's running.
Go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.Safari.plist file.
Restart Safari, setup your preferences again (including the toolbar) and see if that solves the problem.

I have that same issue, but there is no such file in my Preferences folder (or in my whole HD)! Can you help me?
