How To Download Safari 4.0.3

I just updated iTunes, unfortunately now it will not let me on the store because I do not have version 4.0.3 or higher of Safari. Of course, I went to the site and downloaded it. Whenever I do, though, it begins the download as the regular .dmg however it changes to a .pkg in the end and I have no program that it can be opened with. Did I accidentally delete a program? Am I doing something wrong? I had this issue earlier with flip4mac, but I assumed it was just something with the website, but now that apple's downloads are acting strange, I'm beginning to think it might be more serious.
