what is novamedia disk suppressor?

Hi
i installed snow leopard without issues.
but now at login of every user the system asks to download rosetta because the "novamedia disk suppressor" needs it to run.

Any idea of what this is? i do not find anything in the apps
seems it did run at login under leopard.

Hello,

the only part that launch2net will need Rosetta is the so called configurator. It detects a modem and the network operator automatically and based on this information it configures the necessary connection details, so you will not have to bother with this at all. You just press connect to be online with your Mac and mobile device.

This configurator seems to be the so called "compressor".

We will, of course, get rid of the need to use Rosetta at all with the coming update for 10.6 compatibility. This should be available in week 38, that means very soon 🙂

Sorry for the confusion, please drop us a line for any other questions at info (at) novamedia.de

Kind regards,

Hello,

it might be that you have at one time used a software like the Vodafone Mobile Connect or the Vodafone Mobile Broadband software or a launch2net - Sony Ericsson Edition or launch2net - T-Mobile Edition?

In any case, you can try running the installer of that specific software and select "uninstall" to get rid of it.

Kind regards

Jan,

Pavel, I have the same question...

When I installed Snow Leopard 10.6, "launch2net - Sony Ericsson Edition" turned not compatible. I saw at http://www.novamedia.de/sonyericsson/versionmd300en.html that message:

"10.6 Snow Leopard Information:

* A Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard compatible update for launch2net - Sony Ericsson Edition will be available soon on this site. Please check back frequently."

My quetion... When the launch2net - sony ericsson edition snow leopard's compatible version will be available to download on the NovaMedia's site?

Thank you very much for the information...

It's a Novamedia code part added to some application like Vodafone connect software.
If you don't need try to eliminate.
Otherwise go to vodafone.co.uk and search to update loging in your number
If you prefere remove see this:

Remove the following from /Library/LaunchAgents/
cn.com.zte.usbswapper.plist
de.novamedia.NovamediaDiskSupressor
Remove mac_swapperdemon from system preferences user > accounts > user login items
Remove
/Library/Application support/Vodafone
/Applications/Vodafone mobile connect
Update: also discovered some kernel extensions to remove
sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/USBExpressCardCantWake_Huawei.kext
sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/ZTEUSBCDCACMControl.kext
sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions/ZTEUSBCDCACMData.kext
