Dazzle

Hi there,
Coes anyone know if I can use a Dazzle Digital Video Creator with a Mac?

I just bought the Dazzle DVC 150 b/c I need to output some movies on my Mac to VHS. The software they include (Pinnacle Studio Quickstart) is PC-compatible only. I thought I could just bypass using the software b/c I'm exporting directly from Adobe Premiere (using "Export Timeline to Video"). I hooked up all the cables to my vcr and computer, but I'm having no success getting anything on my VHS tape. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Liang

Hi Liang - I haven't bashed a Dazzle in ages but they've always been flaky with fcp. Most people here use the Canopus.

I noticed one in a store the other day and saw that Pinnacle are marketing the wonder device these days. Out of sheer idle minded curiosity I headed over to Pinnacle to see if they were promising any improvements - lo and behold there they were - not 1 of them but 4 products bearing the Dazzle name.
Stunned - I read further.

I see that they've got USB 2 as the transfer now - dropping firewire completely. Guess they never did fix the ground loop ...

My $0.02c - take it back and get something that does work with fcp.

Thanks for the advice! I'll return my Dazzle DVC 150 today, but do you have any suggestions for a Mac-compatible DV to analog converter that's not too pricey and that I can buy at stores like Circuit City or CompUSA? (I need it pretty quickly, so i don't have time to wait for online shipping.) All I need to do is output from Adobe PREMIERE to VHS.

THanks!
Liang
