MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 not working in SL

Hey all, I've been using the MS notebook 5000 without issues prior to today's upgrade to 10.6.1. It will not connect to the mouse.

I've done the following, based on information found in other threads:

- delete the bluetooth file in preferences in the Library.
- reset the PRAM.
- disconnected/deleted the mouse and letting the Mac find it.

It's a late 2007 Macbook which has had limited use, so I don't think it's a hardware problem (and it worked fine prior to the upgrade).

I've seen this problem in several threads, along with suggestions to resolve it, but I haven't seen anyone actually post they got it to work.

Any ideas? I'm not a real good trackpad guy, so I really want to get this working. I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Andy

I'm an idiot...after I did everything I specified in my post, I did not make the mouse discoverable properly. I deleted it from the Bluetooth devices, and once I properly made it discoverable it was quickly found and it seems to be working nicely. Thanks to Barry and some others for their helpful responses to others with Bluetooth problems, which helped me.
