the installation failed 1st dvd fcs 3

Go to Applications/Utilities and launch Console.
Click the triangle next to *LOG FILES.*
Click the triangle next to /var/log.
Locate install.log if that is empty, locate install.log.0.bz2

Find the part that contains information about the failed install and post it here. It will be near the end.

I encounter the very same problem with every installation now. I even have the snow-leopard and thought that it would bring less trouble. Here is the requested message:

What is the solution to that problem?

I installed FCS the other day and got an error. I cleaned off my fingerprint and it install correctly. Remove the install disc and check the condition of the disc. Make sure there are no blemishes or fingerprints on the install disc.

Lastly if all else fail. See if you can make a disc image of the disc. If successful you might be able to install from that disc image.

After I had the error above I made disc images of all of the FCP disc. And put the install disc away for safe keeping. If you make a disc image of all the discs, during installation it will go from from one disc image to the next, not asking to insect discs. A time saver, the installation goes just a little faster and further more, you don't have to sit the during installation inserting discs.

im gettin the same problem even with images!!! help me because this is driving me crazy. I am debating of killing SL and going back to lepoard... and trying to install from the images that way. does anyone have a better work around? I get the same error as the other guy the german. please someone help!!!
