QuickTime no longer playing MPEG2 files after 7.6.4 update?

I just wanted to find out if anyone is having trouble playing MPEG2 files in QT after the 7.6.4? I started noticing it after I tried to convert some "unwrapped" TiVo files. The files will play back fine in VLC and Toast, but will only playback audio in QT and MPEG Streamclip. I do have the MPEG2 playback component and have never had this problem before. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am also getting this issue...I have an eyetv 200 which saves files as mpeg-2 and suddenly, when I try to open mpeg-2 files, even with the plug in, I get the message : file could not be opened, this is not a movie file. plays fine in vlc, but I can no longer open it in QT or in imovie. I am on an older system...as I am using a G5 mac. Still on Tiger.
