Server unexpectedly dropped the connection ...

I have the same problem with pages as facebook.

same situation; works with Firefox and it's the apple store website that it occurs with (sometimes on discussions.apple.com also)

Same problem here on 10.6.1... Safari only.

Problem seems to be isolated to Apple sites. Store and Discussions are unusable with safari 4.0.3 under Snow Leopard 10.6.1. Combination of "expectedly dropped the connection" and complaints about various cookies (ac_history, etc).

I'm having the same problem here. Tried to delete cache and disable all internet plugins, but that didn't help either. However, I created a clean new user and tried to surf those pages from that account and it worked flawlessly. Thus I think that there's something messed up with my user account. Any ideas anybody?

Safari 4 seems to be real sensitive to code. Or should I say bad code? Yes, it touts being Acid 3 compliant. But I have had issues with it rendering pages correctly from the start. Best thing I have found is to turn on developer tools in preferences -advanced settings and use the browser gent tool.

Removing cookies solved the issue for me.
One of the error messages I got when I tried to open those Apple Store pages mentioned cookies so I removed them.
Resetting Safari should have removed cookies so my solution may not be applicable to you but give it a try.
