Snow Leopard Has Ruined My Titles-They Are Black Instead of Transparent

I am like, what is going on? Everytime I put a title on, the screen goes black, with the writing and then onc the title has finished it goes back to the video. Did not have this problem pre-installation of Snow Leopard - anyone have any ideas?

MacBook Pro 17 inch, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Apple is aware of this issue for about three weeks, no fix offered yet.

please make a bug-report:

Karsten, has anyone tried switching fonts.

I tried a lot .. 🙂

User uploaded file

.. does show: it is - imho - no corrupt font 'thingie', but somehow Quartz-related.. all titles, which are based upon that technology, are kaputt .

re-installing iLife didn't fixed it; re-installing SL either ..
lucky me, I made a clone of my working 10.4. set-up ...

Apple is aware of this prob, but told me, they can not re-enact the prob.. I did send them even a screen-recording, hurray QT-X ... plus, they contacted some other users, I made a list of the posters here with same prob - still no results/reply.

I don't have the time and endurance to test my own. e.g. what would happen, without a custom install of QT7, Rosetta, .. and I'm no engineer, if e.g. the grafic-cards have something in common.. of need a firmware-fix, due to some.. whatever.

.. maybe, on some rainy November weekend, I will waste a few hours by watching the installer-video again and again and ... LOL .

(no, I don't get any compensation doing that, not even a t-shirt.. 😉 )

the cross dissolve also dips to black and I believe a few other transitions are also affected. On a couple of project where I used themes, for instance the photo album title page (where you can insert video or still picture) instead of seeing the video there on the album cover, you see black. It it also like that in other themes. All the titles have black... or black boxes. It seems like this is not a widespread problem since only a small group of posts. I took my IMac in to an apple genius a few weeks ago and he recommended uninstalling snow leopard which he did and went back to leopard -- but it created so many other problems instead -- I spent 10 hours with Apple Care to restore it back. (when it did revert to leopard -- the titles and other related iMovie problems disappeared. Please Apple Engineers -- fix it or let us know what we can do to restore iMovie to his full functionality.

no .. (btw: is this a smart company name.. 😉 )
only compatibility issues I had, my favorite toy MediaInfo (=to analyze video files.. ) jumps to nirvana in 10.6. ...-

don't hesitate to post more suggestions..
I'm pretty sure, something interferes ..
but I own mostly 'the usual suspects' of software, very few 'exotics' (=no betas, etc) ..
e.g. years ago, I used divx-encoders, which sometimes have a bad effect .. = all erased, .. no change.
