Problem DL'ing Apple Special Event September 2009

Hello

I try to download the latest episode of Apple keynotes podcast, but I keep getting the same message - "There was a problem adding "Apple Special Event September 2009" to iTunes. The file might be corrupted, or a file type that iTunes cannot play." However, I can download and play other episodes of this and some other podcasts. Actually I see this behavior for the first time since I discovered podcasts directory in iTunes Store. I am using iTunes 9 here.

Anyone, any ideas why this is happening? Am I the only one that can't download this episode?

Hi there,

same problem from DE side 😟 iTunes 9 downloads only about 1,6MB of the file and then silently quits. It occasionally seems to falsely recoginze a completed download but fails to play stream after few seconds. Downloading file via browser from direkt feed link posted in this thread doesn't work for me either. All attempts result in a broken 1,6MB file being downloaded to my machine. Maybe a glitch in the CDN? Apple can you have a look and re-publish? DE would like to see as well 😉

Thanks!

Similar problem here. Im from the UK and cant get this file through itunes on either my imac or my win7 laptop. The link provided doesn't seem to work either!
Hopefully apple will soon get on top of it, i've had this problem before with apple keynotes and i reckon it could be down to high demand and a low level of resources, at least for this particular podcast.

There are many problems I'm getting here in germany too. 1st I can't use the QuickTime stream because it will show the loading animation infinitely. 2nd I can't use QuickTime because it'll stop playing after 30-something seconds. 3rd I can't use the feed someone in this thread provided because it simply stops loading after 30-something seconds. Does anyone have an alternative/bugfix?

Also the same thing happened with the Macworld 09, only that about half the movie worked instead of 30 secs.

Also having the same problem in Belgium. iTunes 9 appears to download nothing at all while the direct link shared above points me to a 1.7MB file that does nothing when opened. My iPhone also fails to download the podcast.

Has anyone diagnosed this problem yet? I've been on plenty of forums where users (particularly in the US) have had no problems whatsoever.

I also get a 1,7mb file. It throws a bad light on Apple, that they are not able to fix this problem. I guess the problem is some kind of distributed, location based file downloading system. It's the same download-link for everyone, but downloaders from the USA use another server than downloaders from Europe. There are perhaps dozens of servers, and one of them serves an incomplete file.

Perhaps anyone with this problem should "Report a Concern" with the link below the podcast folder in iTunes.

The problem seems to be with Akamai network that distributes content for many publishers including Apple, Google and others. That would explain why the file can be downloaded from some countries and fails in the rest of the world. I am currently watching the Special Event via the link on the Apple website ( http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/keynote/) with RealPlayer SP by opening the following link with RealPlayer:
