Snow Leopard - can't login

Hey!

I am having a nightmare:

I just installed Snow Leopard on my brand new MBP from a TimeMachine backup. It seemed to all be working perfectly.

I then installed some System Updates (iTunes, Bluetooth Firmware, and OS X update) and I now cannot login! I type in my credentials and my system hangs indefinitely once the login screen has gone!

Argh! Help! Please :S

You should be able to change your password using your your original Leopard DVD or your SL DVD. Worst case hopefully: Do you have a TM Snow backup--created before the install to the updates? If so, then you should be able to restore it. Note that the problem may not be your credentials; it may go deeper.
