I got my iPhone wet.

I dropped my iPhone in the washing machine. I put it in a bag of rice until I could get some silicon crystals today, when I put it in a plastic box with the crystals covered with a coffee filter, iPhone on top. What else can I do? Does my AppleCare cover this?

iPhone 3GS, Mac OS X (10.5.2), Wet iPhone

It sounds like you are doing all the right things.

Warranty does not cover this situation (which is why they have built moisture sensors into the phone).

Applecare extends the warranty, so, no Applecare does not cover this.

Check that out. There is an out of war. cover that means you could get your phone replaced at a cost of $199 in the US.

I dropped mine in a bowl of soup. Put in a plastic ziplock bag with rice and LEFT IT ALONE! That was the key. It was probably 24 hours before I tried it and no problem. Good luck.

You should not use rice...the power gets inside the phone...not good...

Next time get a bunch of those Silica Gel packets and stick them in the bag...
