Ipod Shuffle Headphone

I have trouble using the normal apple headphones and tend to use ones that fit my ears better. Are there alternative headphones for the new ipod shuffle? I am interested in purchasing one, but not if I have to use the earphones that come with it. they won't stay in place and I will end up not using it at all! Any suggestions?

Do you work for APPLE? Do you remember the 1st Gen Iphone with the headphone issue? I have an adapter for that one and vowed that it would be the last headphone adapter that I would ever purchase for an APPLE product... BIG fan of APPLE but not their current IPOD/Iphone design team.. They finally fixed their mistake on the Iphone but NEVER learned... ADAPTERS are not the solution.. just a temporary workaround for BAD design decisions..

Sorry, missed your answer here. If you noticed the OP asked is someone made different headphones (not in the ear) that worked with the Shuffle. Not an adapter. This question comes up on almost every model of iPod. I directed her to the Scoshe link that does indeed include their adapters but ALSO includes their line of earbud headphones that work with the 3rd Generation Shuffle. So how is that working for Apple? And what does the adapter have to do with this thread?

Try sennheiser..they make some nice sets that have varied size earbud inserts (small, med, large) so your not stuck with the Apple...

Also, if you purchase one then you may need to purchase an adapter since most are not inline and shuffle certified... Try the link below for the adapter.. Sorry, total cost to own a shuffle has just doubled.. That we can all thank Apple for..

also, suggest you leave feedback for Apple on their poor design of the shuffle and for not putting basic controls. So find yourself a nice headset, then a good adapter and Good luck.. Just don't lose one or the other, you will need to start over..

link to adapter..

You could have just directed them to the same link I already posted.

You bought your Shuffle for $19.95? Because that is the price of the adapter. Even if they bought a 2nd Generation Shuffle (which are still available as new units) they would be the same in ear speakers and they would want different headphones so you need to omit that cost.

No, that was exactly the point. You can still buy a new 2nd Generation Shuffle, which for you is the "better design" since it has controls on it. For me, not a big deal and since Apple brought out a new version, in various colors, they must be selling them. You don't speak for the entire world population.

Only have one adapter and since I am using the Shuffle why would I want to sell it. Who knows there could be a redesign next September but maybe they still won't have controls on it. Or maybe they will. But I'll still have my 3rd. Generation Shuffle so it will still be useful to me.

Actually, I don't have any job, real or otherwise.

Version colors were used because sales were down and this was another way to attract end users that are more about color and style versus real world practical use..... I think once the runners begin loggin their feedback, the shuffle will prob get a new redesign.. "keeping the colors of course"..

your right.. 2G is for me right now until the update and redesign..

I HATE in ear "headphones" it's an oxymoron, headphones are for over the head, not in the ears, in ear buds hurt, I had no idea until I opened the package that I had no choice and had to have these as I am NOT a usual apple customer, and won't be in the future, as all have said here, bad design, choice of colours is one thing, choice of accessories is another all together. Hate the earphones, have I wasted my money? I think so, won't use this much. And the sweat issue, seriously Apple released this without testing, do they WANT law suits? Amazing.

The ONLY reason I bought seven of these gen 3's is because I HAD NO IDEA I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO USE A REGULAR HEADSET! I never, ever would have bought these **** things had I known I would have to buy an adapter to use my AKG's (regular) headphones....

Why seven? Because I bought them as a remembrance of an event, and yes, had each one engraved....

You can just look at a picture of one online and see that it has no controls on it. So how did you think one controlled it? And despite that you bought 7 of them, had them engraved, and failed to do any research in how they worked?

There are 3 Apple Stores in Dallas, you couldn't pop in and try one out before you decided to buy it? Pop in there now, buy the Griffin headphone adapter (Northpark has them) and use you AKG headphones.

I think an apple shuffle redesign is on its way this fall.. FINALLY.. Thx Apple for hearing all the feedback..

IMO hold off on the shuffle until fall and lets see what happens.. Sorry about the 7 shuffles... 3G was design over practical use (that design team did not get a bonus this year and not part of apple)... 3G shuffle should be in a museum vs at the gym!..
