Quicktime for Windows XP

1. I have a program that doesn't recognize my Quicktime. 2. I have Quicktime 6.5.2 already installed on my pc with
Windows XP. I check for updates and it says there
aren't any.
3. I go into Apples website and they have the new update
7.02 but it is combined with iTunes.
4. Do I need to uninstall all of the older versions of
Quicktime and download and install the 7.02 version?
5 I already have iTunes downloaded and installed
separately and it has a new update that needs to be
downloaded and installed and should I go ahead and
update that before I install the 7.02 with iTunes and
Quicktime combined together?
6. Sounds confusing? It is to me and I have been using
Apple Quicktime for years and years. I can't imagine
what someone who knows nada about computers is
thinking, can you?
7. Please help.

I think I'm having a similar problem. I downloaded the new QuickTime 7.0 and now I can't open my iTunes. I keep getting a message that says "QuickTime version 6.5 is installed, iTunes requires QuickTime version 7.0 or later." I tried to download the stand alone version of QuickTime too and got a "Error 1603" message.

I'm going to try uninstalling QuickTime and reinstall again. Let me know if you figured this whole thing out because I've been without Itunes for 3 days now!

Apple.com did NOT say of the steps to take before the instalation and QuickTime Player 6.5 seems to have been open on my tool tray (?... bottom right of Windows). When I went to use my Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary CD-ROM... it did not work well! I can use the basic visual part of finding a word, but I can not hear the pronunciation nor can I do the exercises. PLEASE can you find a solution the SOONEST possible since I do NEED this for my studies and work. I beg for your help!!!
