Since upgrading to the latest version of iTunes I've had several Quick Links disappear such as "My Alerts", "Complete My Album" and "Upgrade to iTunes Plus". These no longer appear, whether I am signed in or not
The loss of these is very inconvenient. Does anyone know of a solution? Thanks.
Thanks but that's not quite the problem I'm having. I'm able to add artists to "My Alerts", it's +finding the "My Alerts" quick link to check for any new releases by artists I've previously added+ that's the problem.
Since "upgrading" to iTunes 9 many of my quick links such as "My Alerts", Complete My Album" and "Upgrade to iTunes Plus" remain missing.
I've been using iTunes now for over two years and this is the first time an update has caused any problems with simple functionality like this. In addition to these issues, the interface is also far less responsive now, very disappointing.
No, you're not alone. Just like you, this version is one that takes leaps backward in interface - particularly a key aspect of this franchise - the purchasing process....
I believe you have to:
1) Login
2) Click on the iTunes store link on the left "bar" - where your playlists are.
You'll see the the Quick Links section then (I hope), top right area.
So yeah, that's the only way to see it..including the "wish list" that has replaced the concept of a shopping cart....yup, version 9 is a storefront with no shopping cart! Sigh...
I had hoped that the recent update would fix this issue but there was no such luck.
Although they have inexplicably appeared twice now and then vanished, I've yet to find a solution which will return the "My Alerts", "Complete My Album" and "Upgrade to iTunes Plus" links.
Well I FINALLY managed to find the "My Alerts" button... from the i-Tunes home page, enter in the search bar (top right) an artist you want to add. When the pages load you should see a bunch of albums from the artist... click on any one of the CD's they made. The next page will bring up details of that CD. Look under the album artwork you'll see "customer ratings", then the "Top 3" of that artist... look down further until you see "More(name of artist)" under that Title you'll see "biography" then "Artist Alerts". Click it and you're done! I did notice it may not show up in your list of alerts right away, may take a few minutes, or require you to log off and back on. Hope this helps everyone!
hi guys , i am having the same problem . sometimes '' my alerts '' were available but not anymore . it is a right pain in the *** as it was a nice place to look for new releases of interest . anyway its apple's loss also because us people can't buy as many tracks as we might have .
I am now having a similar issue. I am able to add things to my wish list just fine, however under the quick links section of the itunes store I am no longer offered a link to the wish list, genius recommendations, or any other such function as artist alerts etc...
Hey just letting you know in another thread someone found a link to the wish list. Down at the VERY bottom of the itunes window under "manage" there is a link to get to your wishlist. I found this extremely helpful so I figured I'd relay it in case anyone else was having similar difficulty.
The Wishlist is also available at the top of the iTunes Store.
Hover the mouse over your username in the upper right corner. You should see a drop down arrow appear to the right of the username. Clicking on this arrow gives you the options: Account, Redeem, Wishlist, and Sign Out.
I would love to be more helpful with the other aspects of this discussion, but I am unfamiliar with previous versions of the Store. If it is not imperative that you have the most recent version of iTunes for your content or devices, you might consider using a previous version and seeing if that makes the Store more useful to you.
Very frustrating. I, too, went looking for My Alerts after upgrading the other day and can't find them. It's also frustrating that there's very little information on this. As someone who's worked in tech for more than a decade, I understand the need to change UI from time to time. HOWEVER, it's always smoother if you actually tell your customers what the heck you did and how they might be able to alleviate any problems, challenges or loss of information.
Grrrrr.
