EXS24 mkII: How can I stop a sample anytime?

I hit one note where a sample I made is playing ( 1shot is clicked ) so my hands are
free to play along elsewhere on the kb.. If I need to stop the sample anywhere,
can I assigned a key or something to make it stop ?

Hi

Yes you can

From the EXS instructions in the Instruments and FX manual...

+Voices Parameters+

+Â Poly. (Polyphony): Determines how many voices the group is allowed to use. A+
+practical use of this would be to set up a classic hi-hat mode within a full drum kit,+
+mapped across the keyboard. In this scenario, you could assign both an open and+
+closed hi-hat sample to a group, and *set the Voices parameter of the group to 1. In+*
*+this example, the most recently triggered of the two hi-hat samples will mute the+*
*+other, as only one voice is allowed for the group.* This mirrors the real-world behavior+
+of hi-hats. When samples in zones are assigned to another group, the other sounds+
+of the drum kit can still be played polyphonically. The Max option ensures the group+
+uses the maximum number of voices allowed by the Voice parameter in the+
+Parameters window.+

Create a special group that plays your wanted 1shot sample with another sample to trigger the muting of the long 1shot.

You might want to have the second sample's volume in the group turned off, or you could have a small empty sound file. Hitting the second key in a group set up like this will stop the first sample playing thru its 1shot.

Experiment with it and you'll get what you want.

Cheers
